How a simple idea became a memory preservation mission

As a child, founder Phillip loved to collect “things” – feathers, coins and rocks, “things” that could be touched, a reminder of moments, places, holidays or people.

A large jar of coins from his grandfathers wardrobe stuck in his mind, fast forward to adulthood and a desire to create a business during lockdown, Phillip began Milestone Year in the small green shed at his then home in Chessington, inspired by the heritage and history of antique coins just like those in his grandfathers wardrobe, he started on a journey to develop a range of gifts with meaning using old coins.

Now in 2025, all our products are still hand polished, assembled, and boxed in our studio in Edinburgh, Scotland. Our gifts are suitable for all occasions such as birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries.
Each item is crafted with great care and attention to detail, ensuring that every piece carries its own unique story.

What began as a small passion project has grown into a brand that celebrates memories, milestones, and the timeless beauty of history. Every Milestone Year creation is more than just a gift, it’s a connection between past and present, a way to hold onto life’s most meaningful moments.
